New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson (foot) has had a roller coaster of a season in 2024. After starting out hot, scoring 20.6 and 16.0 PPR fantasy points in his first two games, he managed -0.7 in Week 3 and fumbled for his fourth time in Week 4.
This led to his benching in Week 5, and despite this, he outplayed backfield mate Antonio Gibson and scored 19.20 PPR fantasy points. Things looked to be getting back on track as Stevenson didn't fumble a single time that game, but unfortunately, he popped up on the injury report ahead of Week 6.
So is Rhamondre Stevenson hurt or healthy now? Should you start Antonio Gibson instead?

Is Rhamondre Stevenson Playing In Week 6?
He will not play. He was officially declared "out" by the Patriots for Sunday's upcoming contest with the Houston Texans. It was originally believed that he had a calf injury, so it's interesting to see that a foot ailment is listed in the official report. It's possible the issue could've not been recognized until later.

It's unclear if this is the play that gave him his injury, but regardless, it's not viewed as a long-term issue, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect a multi-week absence yet.

Stevenson clarified that he should be "good" and that he's not expecting this problem to be lasting.

Should I Start Antonio Gibson for Fantasy Football In Week 6?
Patriots football is about to get a lot more exciting, and it's not because of the running back situation. Rookie quarterback and third overall NFL Draft selection Drake Maye is set to make his first start Sunday, and it's likely he will present a big upgrade over now-backup Jacoby Brissett.

Gibson does have some juice, and the offense should be elevated by Maye, but he has a big career fumbling issue and will be facing a tough run defense. Despite this, he should be a fine start in PPR scoring formats due to his pass-catching ability and projected workload in Week 6. He's a solid RB3/FLEX with upside for more based on his reception total.
