Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman isn't exactly a household name. Additionally, he's now on the outside looking in this upcoming season in Baltimore as the Ravens have added competition all around him.
The question surrounding Bateman entering 2023 is two-fold. One, will there even be a spot for him on the roster? And two, after missing much of last year, is he healthy or injured as we get closer to the NFL season?
This leaves fantasy managers wondering about the receiving situation in Baltimore. Let's take a look at all the rumors and reports and try to find an answer.

Rashod Bateman Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
Bateman wasn't exactly the spokesperson for production in 2022, nor was he up for the Ironman of the Year award. The speedy WR played in just six games due to Lisfranc foot surgery and is now on the mend.
Will he be ready to go come September? The good news is that he was on the field as OTA's began this week, which is a great sign for the Ravens considering it's still only the month of May.
The sprained foot which later led to the Lisfranc injury occurred in Week 4 of 2022 against the Buffalo Bills. The recovery seems to be ahead of schedule for the athletic 23-year-old, which signals nothing but optimism for the organization and fantasy managers alike.
Will Rashod Bateman Be Ready For The Season Opener?
While things seem to be progressing quite smoothly, there are still many question marks surrounding Bateman and his future. Firstly, will his health hold up and will he be ready to go when the lights are turned on in September? Secondly, will he even have a place on the team after the Ravens signed star receiver Odell Beckham Jr., and drafted heralded rookie to be Zay Flowers this offseason?
Optimism is one thing and reality is another. The 6' 1'' wideout didn't have great numbers in an injury-shortened campaign last season, compiling just 15 receptions for 285 yards and two touchdowns in six games in 2022. If he can stay on the field in 2023, will quarterback Lamar Jackson even look his way?
What hurts Bateman's fantasy relevance are the additions of Beckham Jr. and Flowers. His numbers won't benefit from their arrivals, and that should be worrisome if you are a huge supporter of the talented pass catcher. Let's see how OTA's and training camp shake out from a production and health standpoint, but it would take a herculean effort for number 12 to surpass both Beckham and Flowers on the Ravens' receiving depth chart.
