Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman is coming off an injury-ridden season in which he played only six games. He suffered a foot injury last season and then opted to have surgery, from which he is still recovering.
As per Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, Bateman will not be participating in the mandatory minicamp as he recently "had a shot for healing purposes," which will keep him sidelined for a couple of days.
The Ravens have made significant roster moves over the offseason, and that could have a huge impact on the 23-year-old receiver's usage once he's back on the field. The franchise signed Odell Beckham Jr. to a one-year deal worth up to $15 million, as well as former New England Patriots receiver Nelson Agholor. They also drafted speedy receiver Zay Flowers with the 22nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to further bolster their offense.

Will Rashod Bateman be available for training camp?
Although the Ravens aren't rushing Rashod Bateman to return to the field, head coach John Harbaugh is optimistic that the receiver will be ready for training camp next month. This will be an excellent opportunity for Bateman to get a feel for the new offense under new offensive coordinator Todd Monken. The Ravens are expected to run a pass-heavy offense next season, which is completely opposite of what Greg Roman used to orchestrate.
Rashod Bateman will benefit from Odell Beckham Jr's arrival
There is no doubt that all of the new players acquired by the Ravens this offseason will benefit Bateman significantly. Odell Beckham Jr.'s presence will be critical to his development as a player.
The veteran receiver will draw the attention of opposing defenses, allowing Bateman and Flowers to excel. Lamar Jackson has already agreed to terms with the franchise on a new contract and will look to dominate next season with all of the weapons at his disposal. The Ravens are a Super Bowl contender, and it will be interesting to see how their receiving core will perform under a new OC next season.
