Raheem Mostert Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Raheem Mostert did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
It's still early in the week, so it's not clear how serious this ankle injury is and if it will lead to Mostert missing any time. Mostert's fantasy managers should prepare for the possibility of not having the veteran running back, but they also shouldn't be surprised if Mostert plays.
Mostert is averaging 67.7 rushing yards and 21.6 receiving yards per game this season for the Dolphins. He's scored an NFL-best nine rushing touchdowns.
Raheem Mostert Fantasy Football Outlook
If Raheem Mostert plays on Sunday against the New England Patriots, he's a must-play option in fantasy football. He leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns and has 45 or more rushing yards in six of the past seven games.
Where things get complicated is if Mostert is out. With De'Von Achane injured as well, that would hand the lead-back role to either Jeff Wilson Jr. or Salvon Ahmed. Most people might expect that role to go to Wilson, who returned last week from the Injured Reserve.
Last week, Wilson had no carries and one target, while Ahmed had two carries and two targets. It's likely the two would split carries with Mostert sidelined, which would make both players tough to trust in fantasy. Both are risky plays in season-long leagues but should be sprinkled into DFS lineups as value options. If you have to go with just one of them, a healthy Wilson should see more usage than Ahmed if Mostert is unable to play.
