Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes (ankle) is dealing with an ankle issue he acquired in his team's Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns. He got hit with the good ol' high-low, as he was being tackled from behind by a Browns defender who landed on his ankles.
One of his feet got trapped underneath the body of the player that wrapped him up. At the same time, another defender hit him in the chest area, and his body bent awkwardly as he fell down to the ground. He wasn't reported to have any other medical issues besides the ankle, though.
But will this ankle problem hold him out for the rest of the season?

Is Patrick Mahomes Out For The Season?
Mahomes was diagnosed with a mild high-ankle sprain after undergoing medical tests. NFL Insider Ian Rapoport indicated that the Chiefs' QB is considered "week-to-week" heading into Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

We've seen this story before. Mahomes dealt with an ankle injury last season, yet went on to... win the Super Bowl, that's all. So he's fought through ankle issues in the past, and came out on top (literally). And he practiced in full on Tuesday, so it seems that the injury concerns were overblown.

It seems like it could be a charade, but his practice reps also may not be as grueling as those of players at other positions. And he's played through the same injury before. So he's definitely not out for the season. A full practice indicates that his status for Week 16 appears to be good as well.
For now, there doesn't appear to be anything to worry about for fantasy managers unless he re-aggravates the issue, and that's not likely to happen outside of a game. And it looks more likely that not that he'll play in Week 16 now. He is absolutely not out for the season at this point.
