Parris Campbell Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Campbell (knee) is back at training camp practice on Friday after a rest day on Thursday, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Campbell is dealing with knee tendinitis, but obviously it's not a very serious issue at training camp.
Before the injury, the 26-year-old had been one of the most targeted pass-catchers for the Giants during practice, along with new tight end Darren Waller. If he's healthy when the regular season begins -- he's had his share of injuries in his career -- Campbell figures to have a starting role in the team's three-receiver sets.
Parris Campbell 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While Campbell is slated to be a starter for the Giants, there are suddenly a ton of solid players in the wide receiver room, so the target pecking order is tough to analyze. Darren Waller should easily lead the team in targets, but wide receivers, Isaiah Hodgins, Darius Slayton, Jalin Hyatt, Wan'Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, and Cole Beasley are all in the mix for playing time. Additionally, Saquon Barkley is sure to eat up plenty of targets.
Ultimately, Campbell feels like a mediocre option in managed leagues. For best ball formats, his big-play speed could be advantageous if he can compile a few boom weeks. He's unlikely to be a consistent producer, though.
The 26-year-old wideout is usually drafted outside the top 80 wide receivers, so believers in his abilities can get him for next to nothing.
