Buffalo Bills running back Nyheim Hines was traded from the Indianapolis Colts just before the trade deadline last season. The speedy back didn't contribute much on offense, but he had an unforgettable performance in Week 18 -- scoring two kick return touchdowns in the win over the New England Patriots.
With Devin Singletary out of town, his role on offense could have expended, but a recent injury looks like it will put his career on pause.
Is Hines out for the entire 2023 NFL season? What is the fantasy impact of his injury? Let's dive in.

Nyheim Hines Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Hines (knee) suffered a significant knee injury away from the team and is expected to miss the entire 2023 season, according to sources. Hines had a small role in Buffalo's backfield in nine games (one start) with only six carries for minus-three yards and five receptions for 53 yards and one touchdown.
Needless to say, fantasy managers can now scratch Hines off their fantasy cheat sheets before their drafts and his career has an uncertain outlook moving forward. James Cook, Damien Harris, and Latavius Murray will have a simpler path to touches with Hines out of action.
Nyheim Hines Injury Impact
While Hines wasn't expected to have a huge role on offense, there was a chance he'd be on the field for some third down and hurry-up offense snaps. Now, James Cook looks to have a clearer path to commanding most of those opportunities, while Damien Harris handles much of the early down work and Latavius Murray gets the leftovers.
No one should root for injuries, but there are usually big fantasy takeaways when a major setback happens. In this case, it won't change the outlooks of Cook, Harris, and Murray by much, but it could give their values a minuscule boost. Put simply, there is now one less body to worry about in the Bills' RB room.
Cook has the most upside in PPR leagues, while Harris could break out in standard formats as the primary goal line rusher in an elite offense.
