Noah Brown Injury Update for Fantasy Football
UPDATE: Noah Brown has been placed on Injured Reserve, meaning his season is over. He would not be eligible to return if the Texans made it to Super Bowl LVIII.
Brown (shoulder) came into the Wild Card contest against the Cleveland Browns listed as questionable with a back injury, but he ultimately suited up and earned a start. However, he suffered a shoulder injury in the first quarter that knocked him out for the rest of the game. Earlier in the season, he missed multiple games with a knee injury, so the bumps and bruises are beginning to pile up.
While it's too early to tell if he has a shot to face Baltimore or Kansas City on Saturday. Fantasy managers and DFS gamers will have to keep an eye on the Texans' injury report beginning on Saturday. Nico Collins is set in stone as the team's WR1, but Brown's absence would mean more opportunities for Dalton Schultz, Brevin Jordan, and Robert Woods. Xavier Hutchinson, John Metchie III, and Devin Singletary could be more involved in the passing attack as well.
Noah Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
If Brown suits up in the second round of the AFC Playoffs, he'll face a tough matchup -- regardless of the opponent. The Baltimore Ravens have surrendered the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers, while the Kansas City Chiefs have given up the second-fewest fantasy points per game to wideouts.
Brown has two games of over 150 yards receiving this year, so he has proven to have upside. However, the matchup and injury concerns make him a fade this weekend.
