Is Miles Sanders Playing In Week 8?
Miles Sanders injured his shoulder during the Panthers' Oct. 8 contest against the Lions. He finished that game with seven carries for 32 yards. He hasn't played since.
But Sanders has practiced in full this week, suggesting that he's in line to play on Sunday when the Carolina Panthers take on the Houston Texans.
So far this season, Sanders has 61 carries for 190 yards and a touchdown. He's averaging a career-low 3.1 yards per carry and 38.0 rushing yards per game. Even if Sanders plays, his struggles this season are concerning when it comes to his fantasy football outlook.
Should I Start Chuba Hubbard?
While Miles Sanders has struggled, Chuba Hubbard played very well in the game that Sanders missed, carrying the ball 19 times for 88 yards and a touchdown. He also added a two-yard reception.
While the Panthers acquired Miles Sanders this offseason in the hopes that he could be the team's lead back, his struggles combined with Hubbard's strong play could mean a change to how this backfield looks heading into Week 8.
Hubbard's ceiling is lower with Sanders back, but he is still a decent fantasy RB3 play. It's likely that the touches in this backfield will be split fairly evenly while Sanders works his way back. Temper your expectations with Hubbard, but he should be a better play than Miles Sanders based on their production this season.
