Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams was off to a great start this season. Despite the team being 0-2 heading into Week 3, both Williams and Keenan Allen were playing exceptionally well.
In Week 3, the Chargers won their first game of the season as they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 28-24. Unfortunately for them, Williams suffered a knee injury during the game and was carted to the locker room.
How serious is the Chargers WR injury? Will he play again this season? Let's take a look.

Mike Williams Injury Update for Fantasy Football
As per the latest update, Mike Williams tore his ACL against the Vikings and is out for the season. This is a huge blow for the Chargers' aspirations this season and for all the fantasy managers who had him on their teams as well.
So far this season, Williams has recorded 19 receptions for 249 yards and scored one touchdown in three games. Prior to getting hurt against the Vikings, the 28-year-old receiver was having a phenomenal game, as he had seven receptions for 121 yards and one touchdown on eight targets.
With Williams now out for the rest of the season, pressure will be on Quentin Johnston to prove his worth to the franchise. He was a first-round pick in this year's draft, and it will be interesting to see how he performs alongside Keenan Allen and Justin Herbert.
Quentin Johnston Fantasy Football Outlook
After a great year with TCU, Quentin Johnston was drafted by the Chargers with the 21st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. At the time of the draft, many questioned this decision by the Chargers, but given how often Allen and Williams have gotten hurt in their careers, the franchise wanted another receiver to help Herbert.
With Williams out due to an ACL injury, this is a great opportunity for Johnston to showcase his talent. So far, in three games this season, the 22-year-old wideout has failed to impress. He has recorded just five receptions for 26 yards and has been targeted just eight times.
Justin Herbert, who is also off to a great start, will have to provide more opportunities for Johnston to contribute. If the Chargers continue to not involve their rookie receiver in their offense, it will be very hard for them to have success.
Apart from Johnston and Allen, the Chargers also have Joshua Palmer, who is playing quite well. However, with Brandon Staley under pressure following poor results, he needs to bring the best out of his rookie if he wants to keep his job.
New offensive coordinator Kellen Moore will be required to make some adjustments to his system in order to get more out of Johnston. Mike Williams will be hard to replace, but with what everyone saw from Johnston in college, he could be a pretty good player in the NFL if placed in a good situation.
