Is Mike Williams Or Malachi Corley The WR2 For The Jets?

Mike Williams - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News

The New York Jets will welcome back Aaron Rodgers (Achilles) this upcoming season. After tearing his Achilles on the fourth snap of the 2023 campaign, Rodgers is now fully healthy to lead the Jets offense.

Rodgers also got some upgraded weapons in the receiving game this offseason after New York signed Mike Williams to a one-year deal and drafted Malachi Corley in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Those two wideouts join Garrett Wilson to form a solid wide receiver room.

But which wideout will be the WR2 for the Jets? Will Williams or Corley win that role? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2024:

Who is the New York Jets' WR2?

With Wilson locked in as the team's WR1, the Jets searched for their WR2 this offseason. After signing Williams to a $10 million deal over one year, it's safe to say that the veteran should operate in that role in 2024 -- when he is healthy. However, will he be healthy enough to be the team's WR2 to start the year?

Williams tore his ACL in Week 3 of last season and is currently rehabbing from that injury. The 29-year-old has not been cleared for football activities yet and is working on the side at OTAs.

The Jets remain optimistic that Williams will be ready for Week 1, and if that's the case, he should be the team's WR2. But if he isn't, look for New York to lean on Allen Lazard and Corley more in the passing game in his absence. When the veteran is healthy, though, he should be the WR2 on offense.

Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?

Both Williams and Corley could provide some late-round value this upcoming season. As of now, both wide receivers are going outside the top 120 in drafts, and the rookie currently has an ADP of 181.4 on Sleeper. Nonetheless, the veteran will likely have the better fantasy value throughout the season. It might take a couple of weeks for him to get going, especially coming off a torn ACL. But he could be an eventual league-winner in the second half of the season, given his touchdown upside in a Rodgers-led offense.
