Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams seems to be entering Week 3 with some battle wounds. During the 2022 season, Williams was limited or held out of six games. However, during the 11 games where he played at least 65% of the offensive snaps, Williams averaged 5.3 receptions on 7.9 targets for 77 receiving yards.
Williams' injury history unfortunately leaves a bad taste in fans' mouths, as he was unable to suit up for their Wild Card matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Williams suffered a meaningless injury in their Week 18 game.
Now a couple of weeks into the 2023 season, the wideout once again finds himself on the injury report. Is Williams injured or healthy? Will he play in Week 3 against the Minnesota Vikings? Let's dive in.

Mike Williams Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Williams popped up on this week's Chargers injury report with an ankle injury that he sustained in their OT loss against the Tennessee Titans. This is the second time this season Mike Williams has sustained some damage in a game, missing a portion versus the Miami Dolphins in their home opener. That being said, there is plenty of optimism that he'll be available against the Vikings in Week 3.
The 28-year-old was a full participant during their Wednesday and Thursday practices, while teammate Austin Ekeler did not practice both days due to an ankle injury.
Mike Williams Fantasy Football Outlook
If Williams plays Week 3, he'll have plenty of fantasy football intrigue against the Vikings in a game that has an over/under of 54 points. The next closest game is set at a total of 48.
The Minnesota Vikings currently allow the most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers who align on the outside. Williams is currently second on the team in snaps, routes run, catch rate, and targets when out wide.
That said, Williams is clearly the 1B at receiver, with Keenan Allen operating as the 1A. Williams enters the week with 12 receptions on 18 targets for 128 receiving yards. His running mate Allen enters the week with 14 receptions on 19 targets for 187 receiving yards.
With Williams optimistic about playing in Week 3, he should be treated as a low-end WR1/high-end WR2.
