Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) has been a bit more boom-or-bust than fantasy managers would have liked this season, but still has delivered multiple excellent weeks of play. He's scored 23 or more PPR fantasy points in three of his games while not logging double digits in the other four.
The breakout start to the season Chris Godwin (ankle) had may have had something to do with it, but he's now out for the season with an ankle dislocation. This leaves Evans as the clear No. 1 without much established target competition, and while it remains to be seen how the passing work is distributed, he could see a big boost.
Unfortunately, the 31-year old was forced to leave his Week 7 game against the Baltimore Ravens after suffering an injury. So is Evans now hurt or healthy, and will he return and play for Week 8?

Mike Evans Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Evans suffered a re-aggravation of a hamstring injury he had been tending to earlier in the week. Though he was removed from the injury report and slated as good to go, that clearly was not the case. He was tackled while diving for a potential touchdown catch and ended the play writhing in pain on the ground.

It seems that his removal from the injury report and activation for the game was the incorrect move by the Bucs coaching staff. He clearly needed more time to recover, and a superstar past the age of 30 should be treated with the utmost caution regarding recurring injuries.
The matchup was a tough one and it's understandable that they were chasing a statement win, but missing your top receiver to a potential multi-week absence and still losing the game isn't fun either.
Mike Evans Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 8
It's almost certain that he won't play in Week 8. No. 13's hamstring issue will require a multi-week recovery, and he was already rushed out too quickly when he was activated for his Week 7 game. He should not have played in that contest. The team may not have much choice in the matter, anyway.

It's a shame that he'll miss this much time, and a huge blow to his team. Tampa Bay has now lost their top-2 receivers, one for a few games and one for the remainder of the season. Moving forward, the hope is that Evans is given plenty of time to recover, and sees an even bigger target volume when he returns, without so many dud games.
