The Cardinals knew they would have a difficult year entering the 2023 season, and they were correct. Apart from two shock wins over the Cowboys and Eagles, the team was difficult to watch for most of the year, with only two receivers (Marquise Brown and Michael Wilson) finishing the year with more than 500 yards. No receiver on the 2023 Cardinals topped 600 yards.
But now they have positioned themselves nicely for the future. With Kyler Murray under contract through 2028, the Cardinals drafted Marvin Harrison Jr. to be their undisputed WR1. They let Brown go to Kansas City in free agency and added former Jaguars WR Zay Jones to compete with Wilson for the WR2 spot.
Will Michael Wilson maintain his WR2 status on the depth chart, or will Zay Jones swoop in and take over?

Who is the Arizona Cardinals' WR2?
Obviously, anything can change in the preseason. But for now, it seems like Wilson will be the team's WR2 next to Harrison Jr. as the Cardinals will look to build another playoff team around Kyler Murray.
Wilson was on-pace for 852 yards last season before he got hurt, and the sophomore being put next to the rookie Harrison Jr. should form one of the most exciting young WR duos in the NFL.

Wilson is a mature and well-spoken man for his age, and he has welcomed the possibility of Harrison Jr. playing alongside him before he even got drafted. "I love being paired up with guys who truly love the game," said Wilson when asked about Harrison Jr. in February. "I would be super thrilled to play with him."
Just like Wilson, Zay Jones dealt with some injuries last year. But he finished the season strong, averaging 53.3 yards per game in his final four games of 2023. Jones might be the better all-around player right now, but the Cardinals will probably slide the 29-year-old to the WR3 spot during their youth movement.
The 30-year-old Chris Moore might also suffer the same fate. Also, keep an eye out for Greg Dortch, who just turned 26 and will likely have a bigger role in the offense in 2024.
