New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas is one of the best at his position in the NFL. The veteran receiver is averaging 15.7 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over his past 26 games. Unfortunately, the former Ohio State star receiver has played only 10 games over the past three years because of injury.
Thomas missed half of the 2020 season and the entire 2021 season because of an ankle injury. However, the veteran was able to return in time for Week 1 and put on a performance against the Atlanta Falcons. He caught five of his eight targets for 57 receiving yards and two touchdowns, scoring 20.2 half-point PPR fantasy points.
Unfortunately, Thomas suffered a foot injury in Week 3 against the Carolina Panthers, forcing him to sit out practice all this week.

Is Michael Thomas Injured Or Playing?
Sadly, the veteran receiver will miss the Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in London. Given his history with lower body injuries, the Saints wisely ruled Thomas out for this week’s game on Friday.
Last year the Saints lacked replacement options when Thomas missed the entire season with the ankle injury. Marquez Callaway led the team with 46 receptions and 698 receiving yards, while Deonte Harty had 36 receptions and 570 receiving yards.
While they won’t have Thomas, New Orleans has a much improved wide receiver core from last year. They signed the veteran Jarvis Landry in free agency and used the 11th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft on Chris Olave.
Should I Start Jarvis Landry Or Chris Olave In Week 4?
The veteran Landry is questionable to play Sunday after logging back-to-back limited practices because of an ankle injury. Fantasy players will likely need to decide on the veteran before Sunday morning as the Saints have an early kickoff because of the London game.
However, Landry isn’t an ideal start except in 12-team or larger PPR leagues as a flex option. He is dealing with an injury. Furthermore, the former LSU receiver has seen only 10 targets and scored only 7.7 half-point PPR fantasy points over the past two weeks.
Instead, Olave is the ideal replacement for Thomas. The rookie has earned 13 targets in back-to-back games and seen a massive target share. While he won’t be as effective downfield without Jameis Winston (who will miss this game with multiple injuries), Olave remains a must-start in all fantasy lineups.
