Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. posted a solid season in 2022 considering the suspect QB play from Matt Ryan and the overall effectiveness of the offense. He caught 99 of his 141 targets for 925 yards and four touchdowns -- finishing as the WR20 in PPR leagues.
His overall numbers declined from 2021, but again, the Colts offense was one of the worst units in the NFL. He's still very much in the WR1 conversation but is now in the injury headlines during OTAs. We have the latest update on his status.
Is Pittman healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Michael Pittman Jr. Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Pittman (hip) is being held out of practice, according to head coach Shane Steichen. It sounds like the 25-year-old is dealing with a minor hip issue. The Colts are obviously going to be cautious this early in the offseason, but this sounds like a minor issue that should be gone long before training camp begins.
Ultimately, there's no fantasy takeaway at this point in the process.
Michael Pittman Jr. 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Pittman has a wide range of outcomes in 2023 with rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson under center. Richardson will be Pittman's fourth Week 1 starting QB in as many years, and he'll have by far the least experience of the group. Richardson attempted just 393 passes in three years at the University of Florida, completing just 54.7 percent of them.
That said, there will likely be major growing pains for the off-the-charts athlete, meaning it could take time to develop a real connection with Pittman. Still, Pittman should have a WR3 floor and continue to be the No. 1 target in the Colts' offense. If nothing else, he'll be the primary red zone and end zone target.
If Richardson exceeds expectations early on, Pittman could be a steal at his WR28-30 price range in preseason drafts.
