Is Michael Gallup injured or playing in Week 2 versus the Bengals? Is Noah Brown worth picking up and starting for fantasy football? Read the injury updates.
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup has yet to play this season as he recovers from offseason knee surgery. The veteran wide receiver suffered a torn ACL in his left knee in Week 17 last season, forcing him to miss the rest of the year and most of the offseason.
Despite the injury, the Cowboys re-signed Gallup to a five-year contract worth $57.5 million in March. Because of salary cap restrictions, Dallas had to trade away former No. 1 wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Cleveland Browns.
While CeeDee Lamb has taken over as the top pass catcher on the team, many are excited to see what Gallup can do as the No. 2 wide receiver. However, Gallup didn’t play in Week 1 because of the torn ACL. But will he play tomorrow against the Cincinnati Bengals?

Is Michael Gallup Playing in Week 2 Against the Bengals?
Unfortunately, Gallup won’t play this week against Cincinnati. The Cowboys are being cautious with their young wide receiver and don’t want to put him on the field until he’s 100% healthy.
Furthermore, Gallup wouldn’t be a smart start for fantasy players even if he was going to play. Dak Prescott will miss at least the next few weeks, limiting every Dallas pass catcher’s upside.
Should I Start Noah Brown for Fantasy Football?
Under no circumstance should fantasy players start Brown. The fifth-year receiver has never been fantasy relevant in his career. He averaged 1.3 half-point PPR fantasy points per game over the first four years of his career, scoring more than 8.5 fantasy points only once in 50 career games.
While he had 9.3 fantasy points in Week 1, Brown ended the week as the WR36. Furthermore, he struggled throughout the game with his route running and overall play.
More importantly, Cooper Rush will start at quarterback this week. Despite his 9.3 fantasy point performance last week, fantasy players should leave Brown on the waiver wire.
Who Should I Pickup Off the Waiver Wire?
Instead of adding Brown off the waiver wire, fantasy players should target these three wide receivers: Isaiah McKenzie, Zay Jones, and Sterling Shepard. All three are available in over 80% of ESPN leagues.
Of the three, Shepard is my favorite to add. The veteran wide receiver has always been a favorite target for Daniel Jones, averaging 7.1 targets per game over the past eight games with Jones. Furthermore, the New York Giants won’t have Wan’Dale Robinson this week, opening up more targets and snaps for Shepard. More importantly, Shepard showed no signs of the torn Achilles injury that ended his 2021 season last week.
