New York Jets running back Michael Carter began the year in a timeshare with rookie sensation Breece Hall. After a strong start to the season, he started to lose his grip on the starting role.
Hall eventually emerged as the clear starter but suffered an unfortunate season-ending injury. It allowed Carter to retake the role, despite the team trading for tailback James Robinson. His value was low because Zach Wilson was the starter, but he flashed at times, keeping him in play as a top-36 back.
The Jets made a decision to bench Wilson in favor of Mike White, causing excitement for all of his fantasy managers. Unfortunately, he exited their game against Chicago with an injury, leaving fantasy managers wondering about his status. Is Carter healthy or injured? Let's dive in.

Michael Carter Injury Updates for Fantasy Football
As mentioned above, Carter suffered an ankle injury midway through the game against the Bears. Prior to leaving the game, he rushed the ball six times for 21 yards and caught two passes for 15 yards, indicating he was on his way to a solid game.
Shortly after he was injured, the update below was released.
While the report stated he was doubtful, he never did return to the game.
Michael Carter Injury News
Later on Sunday, another update confirmed it was an ankle sprain, which varies in severity and timeline.
On Monday, we received the most recent report from head coach Robert Saleh, labeling Carter day-to-day.
There isn't a definitive timeline, but the fact that it was not reported to be a high ankle sprain is promising, as those often require multiple weeks of recovery, plus they can linger or impact the player's ability after they have returned.
Is Michael Carter Playing in Week 13?
It's difficult to know at this point what Carter's status will be for Sunday against the Vikings, but the most likely outcome would be that he misses a minimum of one game, meaning fantasy managers will need to find a replacement for Week 13.
There are several potential players you can look to add, including the other backs in New York. You can also review the Waiver Wire Articles on the RotoBaller website for more options.
