Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford was riding high off a Super Bowl win heading into 2022, but his 14th year in the NFL went about as poorly as it could.
The Rams struggled mightily, posting a 5-12 record, but Stafford couldn't finish the season and was limited to just nine games. There have been rumors of him potentially retiring this offseason, but we have the latest update on his health heading into 2023.
Is Stafford healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Matthew Stafford Injury Update For Fantasy Football
(neck) is back throwing at organized team activities after an elbow issue prevented him from doing so last year. A neck injury also knocked him out for the final seven games of the 2022 season, but he's healthy now despite wearing a sleeve covering his right leg.
"I'm just going to keep putting more sleeves on my body as years go, so just get used to it," Stafford said with a laugh. "No, I'm fine. I'm out here. I'm good." The 35-year-old shouldn't have any limitations during offseason workouts as he looks to bounce back in 2023.
Matthew Stafford 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
While the Rams' offense could rebound somewhat from the disastrous 2022 season, we can't expect it to look like the Super Bowl-winning, high-powered unit from 2021. Cooper Kupp should be healthy when the season begins, but the rest of the pass-catching group including Van Jefferson, Tyler Higbee, Ben Skowronek, Puka Nacua, and Tutu Atwell are uninspiring as a whole.
Even in a weak NFC, it's tough to imagine Los Angeles having a top-10 offense. Stafford and Kupp are one year older and coming off of injuries, and the offensive line likely won't be dramatically improved. Ultimately, the Rams went all in for a Super Bowl and now lack depth and high-end talent at key positions.
All that said, Stafford looks to be a low-to-mid QB2 in 2023. He's a fine QB2 in superflex or two-QB leagues, but you don't want to be stuck relying on him in single-QB formats.
