Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been among the league's top tight ends for the past several years. He has finished as a top-five TE in each season since 2019, and he is on track to accomplish that feat again this season. With 42 catches for 488 yards and five touchdowns through eight games, Andrews is currently the TE2 for the year.
However, Andrews suffered a shoulder injury on Thursday against Tampa Bay. With him sidelined, rookie tight end Isaiah Likely made six catches for 77 yards and a touchdown.
How serious is Andrews's injury? Will he miss any games? Is Likely worth adding in fantasy? For answers to these questions, continue reading.

He did ultimately play in the game, although he made no catches. This past Thursday, he made three catches for 33 yards against the Buccaneers before sustaining a shoulder injury. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game a short time later.

With Andrews getting banged up frequently recently, questions surrounding his health have persisted. Will he be able to suit up against New Orleans next week?
Will Mark Andrews Play In Week 9 Against the Saints?
Thankfully, the Ravens play next week on Monday night. This means that in addition to the extra days of rest afforded by the Thursday night matchup this week, Andrews will have a further day to recover from his shoulder injury if necessary.
Moreover, Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh gave some good news about Andrews's status after the game. He said that Andrews's shoulder issue was not a serious concern.
Harbaugh said that Mark Andrews and Rashod Bateman don’t have serious injuries.

While there is no guarantee that this means Andrews will play versus New Orleans, everything seems to be pointing in that direction at the moment.
Should I Pick Up Isaiah Likely in Fantasy Football?
Rookie tight end Isaiah Likely is an intriguing waiver wire target in the wake of what transpired on Thursday. Likely's 19.7 PPR points easily surpassed his previous high of 8.3. His six receptions, seven targets, 77 yards, and one touchdown were all career highs.
Andrews seems to be on track to be available next week, but if he isn't, Likely immediately becomes a startable fantasy option. For that reason, it will be worth trying to acquire him when waivers reset next week unless further positive news about Andrews's status comes out. Likely, a fourth-round pick out of Coastal Carolina, performed well in the preseason; we have now seen him demonstrate his skills in a regular season game when given an opportunity. Monitor this situation over the coming days before making a definitive decision.
