Is Latavius Murray Healthy Or Injured? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Latavius Murray - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Is Latavius Murray hurt or healthy? Is Latavius Murray playing in Week 16 fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 16 fantasy football injury updates.

Denver Broncos running back Latavius Murray has played well since joining the team. The veteran running back started the year with the New Orleans Saints.

After an impressive performance for the Saints in the Week 4 matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, the Broncos added the veteran running back to their active roster from New Orleans’ practice squad. Denver had just lost Javonte Williams to a torn ACL and needed someone to pair in the backfield with Melvin Gordon.

However, the team waived Gordon a few weeks later. With injuries to Mike Boone and Chase Edmonds, Murray has taken over as the lead back.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is Latavius Murray Healthy Or Injured?

Since the Broncos moved on from Gordon, Murray has averaged 17.8 touches for 83 scrimmage yards and 10.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he is coming off his best performance this year, last week against the Arizona Cardinals, totaling 130 rushing yards and 20.7 fantasy points in the win.

Unfortunately, the veteran running back has been dealing with a foot injury and didn’t practice on Thursday. However, Nathaniel Hackett said the move was precautionary because the team was practicing inside on a turf field.

The Broncos will practice on Friday, as they don’t play until Christmas day on Sunday. While he didn’t practice on Thursday, Murray should be on the practice field on Friday.

However, should fantasy players start the veteran running back this week against the Los Angeles Rams?

Should I Start Latavius Murray in Week 16?

Los Angeles has surrendered 20 fantasy points per game to running back this season, slightly over the league average. However, they have struggled to slow down running backs lately.

Over the past three weeks, running backs have averaged 112 rushing yards, one rushing touchdown, and 24.9 fantasy points per game against the Rams. Furthermore, AJ Dillon and Aaron Jones ran all over the Los Angeles defense last week.

In Week 15, the Green Bay duo combined for 126 rushing yards and 39.2 fantasy points in the win over the Rams. Furthermore, they had three touchdowns combined, with Dillon scoring two on the ground, including the first touchdown of the game.

Assuming Murray is active and not on a snap count, the veteran running back is a safe floor RB2 for fantasy players in Week 16.
