Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has been a fantasy superstar since becoming the team’s full-time starter in 2019. The superstar was the QB1 in his first year as the full-time starter and won the NFL MVP award.
Furthermore, Jackson has always ended the year as a top-10 quarterback when he’s been healthy. Last year the former MVP was the QB15, as he missed five games because of injuries. However, he was the QB8 on a points-per-game basis.
More importantly, the superstar is the QB5 this year, averaging 21.3 fantasy points per game. Furthermore, he is ninth in the NFL with 17 passing touchdowns despite having arguably the worst wide receiver core in the league.

Is Lamar Jackson Healthy Or Injured?
Unfortunately, Jackson showed up on the injury report this week with a quad injury. The franchise quarterback left Wednesday’s practice early but was able to practice on Thursday.
Friday’s injury report will be critical. While he is trending in the right direction, fantasy players would love to see Jackson come off the injury report heading into Sunday’s matchup against the Denver Broncos.
What Quarterback Can I Add And Start Off The Waiver Wire?
Jackson should play this week. However, fantasy players should have a backup option in place. One potential waiver wire target is Jared Goff. The Detroit Lions quarterback is available in over 70% of ESPN leagues.
The veteran quarterback is far from a superstar, but Goff has played well for fantasy players this season. He is the QB19 for the year, averaging 15 fantasy points per game.
However, he is coming off one of his better performances of the season last week against the Buffalo Bills on Thanksgiving. Goff completed 62.2% of his pass attempts for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the loss. He scored 17.6 fantasy points against Buffalo, his best performance over the past four weeks.
More importantly, the veteran quarterback has an appealing matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars this week. The AFC South team has given up 18.7 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks this season. Furthermore, they have given up seven passing touchdowns over their past three contests, giving up 24.2 fantasy points per game during that span.
Goff won’t be a weekly winner for fantasy players. However, he is a safe floor replacement option for Jackson if needed.
