Flashback to Week 14 of the NFL season 2022.
The entire NFL community witnessed Kyler Murray tear his ACL in a primetime contest against the New England Patriots. Due to the timing and nature of the injury, Murray was unable to begin the 2023 season with a clean bill of health.
The franchise quarterback is gearing up to return to game action but that date is still a moving target.

Kyler Murray Injury Update for Fantasy Football
The Cardinals announced from the beginning that they would be cautious with Murray as he made his return from that ACL tear. After spending the first six weeks of the season on the PUP list, Arizona opened his practice window. That means K1 can practice for up to three weeks before he is forced to return to the active roster.
Not only did Murray practice, head coach Jonathan Gannon called him a "full go." Which, in all honesty, was a lie. Murray officially was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Joshua Dobbs will get at least more start. But the return is coming soon.
Kyler Murray Fantasy Football Outlook
Murray may be a week or two away from regaining his spot as the Cardinals' QB1 but fantasy managers can't waste any time. If he's still on the waiver wire, put a claim in now for the former first-overall pick.
Murray was the QB10 in fantasy football in 2022 before tearing his ACL. On a per-game basis, however, Murray ranked sixth. He missed two games (Weeks 10 & 11) with a hamstring injury.
Quarterback | 2022 Avg. Fantasy Points (Through Week 13) |
Patrick Mahomes | 25.7 |
Jalen Hurts | 25.6 |
Josh Allen | 25.4 |
Joe Burrow | 23.5 |
Justin Fields | 21.4 |
Kyler Murray | 20.7 |
The cause for concern, at least for the remainder of this season, is Murray's mobility. He rushed an average of six times for 38 yards per game and tallied three touchdowns on the ground. Joe Burrow, Deshaun Watson, Carson Wentz, and Robert Griffin III all posted lower rushing totals in their first season back from an ACL tear. Still, if you shave two points off his weekly average in 2022 (20 rushing yards), he was still QB9.
The Cardinals field one of the worst defenses (27 points allowed per game, sixth-worst in the NFL) which means Murray will have to throw to keep up. One of his best friends, Marquise Brown, is lined up outside. Rookie Michael Wilson has flashed his potential. Zach Ertz and Trey McBride form one of the best tight-end duos in the league. Murray won't lack weapons when he returns to the gridiron.
