Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Kyle Rudolph is far removed from his prime and hasn't been on the fantasy radar this season, but with a lot of attention shifted toward DFS contests for the NFL playoffs, his injury at least somewhat matters.
Rudolph was once a stud tight end with a ton of touchdown upside but has been quiet in his 12th season in the NFL. Sometimes players with his profile can emerge out of seemingly nowhere and be factors in the playoffs.
All that said, will Rudolph play in the Wild Card round against the Dallas Cowboys? Let's dive into it.

Kyle Rudolph Injury Update for Fantasy Football
In the first quarter against the Atlanta Falcons, Rudolph caught his only target for an eight-yard touchdown in Week 18. However, he suffered a knee injury that kept him out of the remainder of the game. The 33-year-old tight end totaled just three catches for 28 yards in five games played this season, but he was able to record the 50th touchdown reception of his career.
It's early in the week, so we will have to wait on further injury updates and practice reports for Rudolph's game day status.
Kyle Rudolph Wild Card Fantasy Outlook
Ultimately, Rudolph is way beyond his prime, and even if he can return to the field, he won't be anywhere near the DFS radar except as a cheap throw-in option with an expensive lineup. If active, he'll be a mere touchdown-or-bust option and it'll be surprising if he sees more than one or two targets in any given game.
However, he has a place in deep best ball-formatted fantasy leagues, as an injury or two in front of him could propel him into a significant role catching passes from Tom Brady in the playoffs. Usually, trusting Brady and his pass-catchers in the playoffs has been a recipe for success.
All that said, there's a chance he could miss time or even be a healthy scratch during the playoffs, so don't count on him too much
