Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts suffered a season-ending MCL injury in his right knee in November of last year. Due to it, he played only 10 games and wasn't able to build on a promising rookie season in the NFL.
Playing with Marcus Mariota as his quarterback didn't help him either, and he was having a sub-par season before getting hurt. However, the new season is upon us, and with Desmond Ridder as the Falcons' starting quarterback, fans and fantasy managers have high hopes for Pitts.
In this article, we will discuss whether he has recovered from his MCL injury or not and what his status is for Week 1 of the new season.

Is Kyle Pitts Healthy To Play In Week 1?
A good piece of news for all fantasy managers and Falcons fans across the globe is that Kyle Pitts is fully healthy and recently participated in his first training session since that injury as well. He has recovered well and is seen actively participating in the training camp.
Although the 22-year-old tight end had a brace in his right knee while practicing, it was just precautionary, and there is nothing to worry about. Barring any other injuries, Pitts will play in Week 1, when the Falcons take on the Carolina Panthers.
Falcons Need To Maximize Kyle Pitts's Potential
As stated earlier, Pitts had a promising rookie season after being the fourth overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had 68 catches for 1,026 yards and scored one touchdown in 17 games, but that was when Matt Ryan was his quarterback.
In comparison, when playing alongside Mariota, Pitts had 28 catches for 356 yards and scored just two touchdowns in 10 games last season. Expectations are set high for Desmond Ridder in 2023, and it will be interesting to see if he will be able to bring the best out of Pitts, Drake London, and Bijan Robinson. Pressure will be on Arthur Smith as well because he has a great group of young players, and now it's up to him to maximize their potential.
