Is Kenneth Walker III Injured Or Healthy? Fantasy Football Injury Update

Kenneth Walker III - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Is Kenneth Walker III Injured Or Healthy? Is Kenneth Walker III on the field at training camp? Read the latest fantasy football injury updates.

Seattle Seahawks running back Kenneth Walker III was the 41st overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Walker started his college career at Wake Forest. He had 217 rushing attempts for 1,158 yards and 17 touchdowns in his two years as a Demon Deacon. However, the young star transferred to Michigan State in 2021.

Walker was a superstar during his lone season at Michigan State. The talented running back had 263 rushing attempts for 1,636 yards and 18 touchdowns, all career highs. Furthermore, he beat his career totals in all three categories entering the year last season. More importantly, the former Michigan State star was outstanding as a rookie.

Last year Walker had 228 rushing attempts for 1,050 yards and nine touchdowns. He also had 27 receptions on 35 targets for 165 receiving yards. Furthermore, the former Spartan finished second in the Offensive Rookie of the Year award race behind Garrett Wilson.

Is Kenneth Walker III Injured Or Healthy?

Walker’s rookie season didn’t get off to the ideal start. He missed part of the offseason workouts with a hamstring injury. Then the rookie had hernia surgery during training camp, forcing him to miss the Week 1 matchup.

Unfortunately, the second-year star is injured again. Walker is dealing with a groin injury. Head coach Pete Carroll says the young running back could be out for a while.

Hopefully, the injury is minor, and the Seahawks are being overly cautious with the former Michigan State star’s health. However, the fact that Walker had hernia surgery less than 12 months ago isn’t ideal for fantasy players.

Should I Draft Kenneth Walker III?

The regular season is still several weeks away. Yet, fantasy players need to stay up to date on the running back’s health and progress. However, Walker is a superstar if healthy.

Last year he was a top-10 running back after taking over for the injured Rashaad Penny. The former Michigan State star had 17 rushing attempts of more than 15 yards, the third-most in the NFL. Furthermore, it was the most in a season by a rookie since Saquon Barkley in 2018.

While Zach Charbonnet will limit his fantasy upside this year, the former UCLA star’s arrival isn’t a reason to put Walker on your do-not-draft list.
