New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller was the 71st overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The rookie running back had a productive college career at TCU.
Miller had a solid freshman season in 2020, totaling 54 rushing attempts for 388 yards and two touchdowns. The following year the young running back had 83 rushing attempts for 623 yards and seven touchdowns, finishing first on the team in rushing scores and second in yards.
However, he had a breakout season in 2022. The former Horned Frog took off after Zach Evans transferred to Ole Miss. Miller had 224 rushing attempts for 1,399 yards and 17 touchdowns last season, all career highs. Furthermore, he led the team in every category while leading the country in yards per rushing attempt (7.5).

Is Kendre Miller Injured Or Healthy?
Unfortunately, the former TCU star suffered a knee injury during the College Football Playoffs. The injury limited what Miller could do during the pre-draft process. Some believe the former Horned Frog would have been a second-round draft pick and the third running back selected if he was healthy.
More importantly, the Saints placed the rookie on the NFI list at the start of training camp because of the knee injury. However, Miller’s stay on the list was short-lived. New Orleans activated the former TCU star from the NFI list on Monday.
Should I Draft Kendre Miller?
The former Horned Frog star has many fans in the fantasy football community. Furthermore, Miller is a popular double-digit round draft target because of the situation in New Orleans, as Alvin Kamara is facing a suspension from an off-the-field incident back in February 2022.
Many believed Kamara would face at least a six-game suspension earlier this offseason. However, the consensus is that the veteran running back will now receive a four-game ban for the February 2022 incident.
Kamara’s suspension is good news for Miller’s fantasy value. It will allow the rookie a chance to shine and earn a larger role with the veteran away from the team. However, the Saints added Jamaal Williams in free agency. Last year he led the NFL with 17 rushing touchdowns in Detroit.
According to Underdog Fantasy ADP, Miller is the 47th running back off the board and a 13th-round pick. Fantasy players should feel comfortable drafting the rookie at that cost.
