Former Texas Christian University running back Kendre Miller had an impressive final collegiate season and despite being unable to participate in the 2023 NFL Combine or TCU Pro Day, he was selected 71st overall (third round) by the New Orleans Saints.
With the future of former Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara uncertain, Miller could carve out a fantasy-friendly role in 2023.
Is Miller a good fit for the Saints and what can we expect from him as a rookie in fantasy football? Let's dive in.

What Did Kendre Miller Accomplish At TCU?
As a true freshman, Miller had a limited role, but he rushed for 388 yards and two touchdowns on just 54 carries -- good for 7.2 yards per tote. As a sophomore, he remained behind Zach Evans and posted 623 yards on 83 carries (7.5 YPC) and seven rushing scores, adding 12 receptions for 117 yards through the air.
Evans transferred to Ole Miss following the 2021 season, setting Miller up to be the workhorse for the National Champion runner-up Horned Frogs. As a true junior, Miller exploded on the scene, posting 1,399 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns on 224 attempts (6.2 YPC) and 16 receptions for 116 yards. He scored at least one touchdown in all 13 of his games and topped 100 rushing yards in seven contests.
Miller was the fourth running back selected in his class, only behind Bijan Robinson, Jahmyr Gibbs, and Zach Charbonnet after his fantastic season.
Is Kendre Miller A Good Fit For The Saints?
With aging running backs Alvin Kamara (27) and Jamaal Williams (28) on the roster, Miller (20) provides much-needed youth and juice to the Saints' offense. He should be viewed as the running back of the future and at 215 pounds, he should be able to command a solid workload when the time is right.
Kamara was involved in a violent altercation in February of 2022 and has a trial date set for late July. There's a chance he could be facing a lengthy suspension, meaning Miller could start the season sharing the backfield with Williams.
That said, his range of outcomes is wide for his rookie campaign. He could develop into the primary back in an emerging offense led by Derek Carr -- or he could simply be a role player with limited touches early on. Either way, he's an attractive fantasy asset in dynasty rookie drafts.
