The messy backfield in Baltimore in 2023 that included Gus Edwards, Keaton Mitchell, Justice Hill, Melvin Gordon, and even Dalvin Cook during the playoffs is no longer. Derrick Henry is in town and is set to carry the bulk of the load in 2024.
However, handcuffing bell-cow running backs is super important to prepare for potential injuries. The depth chart behind Henry remains murky.
Edwards and J.K. Dobbins left for Los Angeles to carry the load for Greg Roman’s offense, leaving Hill, Mitchell, and fifth-round rookie Rasheen Ali behind Henry.

Who is the Baltimore Ravens' RB2?
Talent-wise, the answer is easily Keaton Mitchell. The second-year back displayed elite burners in the seven games he was healthy for last season, rushing 47 times for 396 yards and two touchdowns while also catching nine passes for 93 yards.
However, Mitchell opened the season on the PUP list and was shelved back on the IR with a torn ACL in December. His Week 1 status is very much in doubt, but he makes for a great IR stash candidate given that he will likely have standalone value as a change-of-pace back once he returns.

With Mitchell likely working his way back from injury at the beginning of the season, the backup job is Justice Hill’s to take. Hill has been with Baltimore for five seasons in a reserve role and is coming off his best season with 387 rushing yards and three touchdowns along with 206 receiving yards and a score. He has proven to be a capable fill-in back and will be worth having on your roster early in the season if you have Henry.
Rasheen Ali is a wild card. He was uber-productive at Marshall but also has an injury history. He runs similarly to former Raven Gus Edwards and could be a nice fill-in if Henry does get hurt. He likely will not see the field unless Henry does go down, however, and is not worth more than a taxi stash.
