Veteran free agent running back Kareem Hunt was the 86th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft. Hunt had an excellent college career, totaling 782 rushing attempts for 4,945 yards and 44 touchdowns at Toledo. He also had 73 receptions for 555 receiving yards and a touchdown in his college career.
More importantly, Hunt was a star the minute he joined the NFL. He had 272 rushing attempts for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns, leading the league in rushing yards as a rookie. Unfortunately, things went south for the former Toledo star.
The Chiefs released Hunt during the 2018 season following a video showing the running back attacking a woman in a hotel. Hunt served an eight-game suspension the following years with the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, he played a critical role for the Browns over the past several years.

Is Kareem Hunt A Good Fit For The Saints?
After four years with the franchise, the Browns let Hunt walk in free agency. The veteran running back has been unsigned since his previous contract expired in March. Furthermore, he hasn’t received much public interest from teams.
However, the former Toledo star visited the New Orleans Saints today. Alvin Kamara will miss the first three games this season with a suspension. While the team signed Jamaal Williams in free agency and drafted Kendre Miller, they appear interested in Hunt.
While the team brought in the veteran running back for a visit, that doesn’t mean a deal will happen. However, the Saints lost Eno Benjamin to a ruptured Achilles over the weekend, ending his season. New Orleans could merely be bringing in Hunt for a visit to get information on a potential signing during the year.
Hunt could quickly sign with the Saints if the team loses Williams or Miller to an injury while Kamara is suspended.
