Is Kareem Hunt A Good Fit For The Colts? Fantasy Football Outlook

Did the Colts sign Kareem Hunt? Is Kareem Hunt A Good Fit For The Colts? Read the fantasy football outlook.

Veteran free agent running back Kareem Hunt was the 86th overall pick by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2017 NFL Draft. He had an excellent college career, totaling 782 rushing attempts for 4,945 yards and 44 touchdowns at Toledo.

More importantly, Hunt was a superstar as a rookie, totaling 272 rushing attempts for 1,327 yards and eight touchdowns. Unfortunately, things went south for the former Toledo star.

Kansas City released Hunt during the 2018 season after a video showed him attacking a woman in a hotel. He served an eight-game suspension the following years with the Cleveland Browns.

What Did Kareem Hunt Accomplish In 2022?

Hunt had 319 rushing attempts for 1,406 yards and 13 touchdowns over his first three years in Cleveland. He averaged 4.4 yards per rushing attempt over those three seasons. Unfortunately, his production slipped last year.

The veteran had only 123 rushing attempts for 468 yards and three touchdowns last season. Hunt also caught 35 of his 44 targets of 210 yards and a touchdown.

Is Kareem Hunt A Good Fit For The Colts?

After four years with the team, Cleveland let Hunt leave in free agency. He has been unsigned since his previous contract ended in March. However, the veteran running back has received interest from multiple teams lately.

The former Toledo star recently worked out for the New Orleans Saints. With Alvin Kamara suspended for the first three games this season, it’s no surprise the Saints are looking for running back help. However, the veteran didn’t sign with New Orleans.

Reportedly the former Toledo got a call from the Indianapolis Colts before his workout with the Saints. The Colts reportedly offered the veteran more money than New Orleans. Hunt will visit with the Colts on Wednesday.

Indianapolis has a significant need for running back help. Jonathan Taylor is still recovering from offseason ankle surgery. Meanwhile, Zack Moss recently suffered a broken arm during practice. The Colts have Kenyan Drake and a few unproven running backs without the two veterans on the field.

Hunt would be a solid fantasy fit with the Colts if Taylor starts the year on the Physically Unable to Perform list. However, the veteran running back will have near zero fantasy value if Taylor is ready to play Week 1.
