Kareem Hunt spent his last four seasons with the Cleveland Browns before exploring free agency. Hunt had a weird 2022 season in which he didn't receive a contract extension or the trade request his camp sought.
Instead, Hunt suited up for 17 games for the Browns, backing up second-team all-pro Nick Chubb.
With Chubb set to undergo season-ending knee surgery, could we see a Hunt reunion with the Browns? Should you pick him up in fantasy leagues?

What Did Kareem Hunt Achieve In 2022?
Kareem Hunt is a sixth-year running back out of Toledo. In 2022, Hunt amassed 678 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns.
This is two years removed from a season where he had 1,145 yards from scrimmage and scored 11 touchdowns! During that season, Chubb missed four games and Hunt had five starts, which was the most since his days in Kansas City.
Kareem Hunt will be meeting with the Browns after visits with the New Orleans Saints, Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings this offseason.
Were There Any Worrying Signs With Kareem Hunt In 2022?
It wasn't a great 2022 season for Hunt.
Kareem Hunt's advanced stats were amongst the lowest in the league, with none of these being top-30 amongst qualifying running backs.
If Kareem Hunt were to return to his former team, there is a great chance that he would spend significant time behind Jerome Ford, whom Kevin Stefanski has named the Browns' featured back going forward.
Both of these things are really worrisome. There are some big concerns about whether or not Hunt can return to his 2022 form, let alone his 2020 form, especially since he hasn't stepped on a football field since January 8.
Should I Pickup Kareem Hunt Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
If you are stuck with a bad waiver wire priority or are low on FAAB capital, stashing away Kareem Hunt seems very intriguing. If looking for a short-term answer at running back, there are plenty of options available on the waiver wire that are currently on a roster heading into Week 3.
The Browns, like many teams, are seeing injuries pile up quickly around the league. With the likes of Nick Chubb & J. K. Dobbins out for the season, and Saquon Barkley hurt for several weeks, teams might re-evaluate the term "workhorse" sooner rather than later. Stefanski said it perfectly, there is no replacing someone of Chubb's caliber. However, Hunt could steal valuable touches from Ford or potentially another RB1 in the NFL.
If Hunt is unable to leave Cleveland without a deal, we can almost guarantee another team will come calling as the season progresses and injuries start to stack up.
