Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney has intriguing upside in 2023 as a contender to be Patrick Mahomes' No. 2 option in the passing game behind Travis Kelce. However, the former Florida Gator has a concerning injury history in just two seasons as a pro.
The defending Super Bowl champions began training camp Monday, and it didn't take long for Toney's name to be back in the injury headlines. We have his latest update.
Is Toney healthy or injured and what is his 2023 fantasy football outlook? Let's get into it.

Kadarius Toney Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Toney (knee) was not spotted warming up with the team on Monday at training camp. Toney injured his knee during warmups on Sunday and is apparently being held out the next day, which shouldn't really come as a surprise early in training camp.
More likely than not, Kansas City will be extra careful with the 24-year-old wideout given his tendency to suffer minor lower-body injuries. He will be a name to watch in the injury headlines all offseason long.
Kadarius Toney 2023 Fantasy Football Outlook
Toney oozes big-play potential as an electric and twitchy skill player, but he has played in just 19 games through two NFL seasons, totaling 679 yards and three touchdowns. He has just one WR1 finish and one WR2 weekly finish in fantasy football in his career -- yet continues to get preseason hype.
Ultimately, Toney's lack of ability to carve out a role as a legitimate wide receiver and his injury misfortune could mean he's fool's gold in 2023 fantasy drafts. He is being drafted inside the top-40 wideouts, despite being far from established and not being clearly ahead of Skyy Moore or Rashee Rice in the Chiefs' target pecking order.
Toney makes for a solid best ball option, but it'd be surprising if he's a consistent starter in traditional leagues. Moore and Rice both have ADPs outside the top 50 receivers, so they appear to be better values at cost for fantasy managers wanting a piece of the Chiefs passing game.
