K.J. Osborn Injury Update for Fantasy Football
During the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Atlanta Falcons, Vikings wide receiver K.J. Osborn took a helmet-to-helmet hit on a play where he was sandwiched between Falcons defenders Dee Alford and Jeff Okudah.
Osborn was carted off the field and did not return to the game. He was diagnosed with a concussion following the hit. Osborn finished with two catches for 17 yards in the game. He had at least five targets in the other three games he'd played since Justin Jefferson was placed on Injured Reserve.
Players rarely return to play the week after a concussion, so fantasy managers should not expect to have K.J. Osborn when the Vikings take on the Saints in Week 10.
K.J. Osborn Fantasy Football Outlook
With Justin Jefferson on the Injured Reserve, K.J. Osborn had seen an uptick in usage, including a season-high 10 targets back in Week 8, which he turned into eight catches for 99 yards.
Jefferson is eligible to be activated off the Injured Reserve this week though, which would potentially be a huge boost to this offense, especially with Osborn unlikely to be available. That would depend on how recovered he is from his hamstring injury, though.
If both Osborn and Jefferson are ruled out, Jordan Addison will be in line for what could be one of the most targeted games of his young career. He's surpassed 50 yards in more consecutive games, including a breakout showing on Oct. 23 against the 49ers when he caught seven passes for 123 yards and two scores. He will be a high-end WR2 if both Jefferson and Osborn are sidelined.
