Kansas City Chiefs second-year receiver Justyn Ross has been turning heads at OTAs and in early training camp. The 23-year-old receiver has yet to play an NFL snap and saw his numbers decline each collegiate season after breaking onto the scene in 2018 as a freshman at Clemson.
Ross went undrafted in the 2022 NFL Draft and missed his entire rookie season after having cleanup foot surgery. He has felt a step slower ever since missing the entire 2020 season, but rumors are flying that he looks like his old athletic self.
Is Justyn Ross a good sleeper pick in 2023? Let’s dive in.

What Has Justyn Ross Achieved In His Career?
Ross made an instant impact as a freshman at Clemson, building rapport with Trevor Lawrence and leading the team with 1,000 receiving yards - more than teammates Tee Higgins, Amari Rodgers, Hunter Renfrow, and Travis Etienne - and added nine receiving touchdowns.
He took a step back to Higgins in 2019 but still recorded 865 yards and eight touchdowns. Ross missed 2020 with a neck and spine injury, but returned in 2021 to lead a dysfunctional passing attack with 514 yards and three touchdowns.
As long as he stays healthy throughout training camp and makes Kansas City’s final roster, Ross will make his NFL debut in the 2023 season. All signs point to him making the roster, as Patrick Mahomes has even been hyping him up.
Should I Draft Justyn Ross In Fantasy Football?
Ross is practically free in fantasy drafts, ranked as the 91st overall receiver based on Sleeper ADP. The Kansas City receiver room is extremely ambiguous behind Travis Kelce, with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Rashee Rice, Richie James, and the oft-injured Kadarius Toney making up the rest of the room with Ross.
It’s anybody’s guess as to who, if anybody, emerges as a consistent fantasy option in this offense but being attached to Mahomes offers high weekly ceilings. Given that Ross costs nothing, he is absolutely worth a flier in the last few rounds as there is a chance he emerges from this ambiguous group of receivers as a go-to guy.
