Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was the sixth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Herbert had an excellent college career, totaling 10,541 passing yards and 95 touchdowns in four years at Oregon.
More importantly, the former Duck was outstanding as a rookie. He completed 66.6% of his pass attempts for 4,336 yards and 31 touchdowns. Furthermore, Herbert won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, beating out Justin Jefferson.
The young superstar had another excellent year in 2021, totaling 5,014 passing yards and 38 touchdowns. Unfortunately, a shoulder injury impacted his play last season. Herbert had 4,739 passing yards and only 25 touchdowns in 2022.

What Did Justin Herbert Accomplish In Week 4?
Thankfully, the former Oregon star has been outstanding this year. He had 939 passing yards and six touchdowns over the first three weeks, totaling at least 305 yards and two touchdowns in back-to-back contests.
However, Herbert completed only 54.2% of his pass attempts for 167 yards and a touchdown in Week 4 against the Las Vegas Raiders. The superstar quarterback did have 12 rushing attempts for 27 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
Unfortunately, the former Oregon star briefly left the game with a hand injury.
Is Justin Herbert Injured Or Healthy?
The superstar quarterback suffered a fractured finger and a gruesome nail injury on his non-throwing hand. However, Herbert didn’t miss a snap against the Raiders. More importantly, the Chargers have their bye in Week 5. The bye week should give Herbert the time needed to recover from the injury and not cost him any games.
While fantasy players will need to find a replacement for the former Oregon star this week, the injury could have been catastrophic. Thankfully, Herbert should be ready to play in Week 6 against the Dallas Cowboys.
However, there is still the issue of who to start in place of the superstar quarterback this week. Sam Howell is an outstanding one-week replacement for Herbert. The former UNC star had nearly 300 passing yards and 20 fantasy points against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4.
This week, he faces the Chicago Bears. The NFC North team has been one of the most fantasy-friendly defenses to quarterbacks this season. They have surrendered at least three passing touchdowns and over 22 fantasy points in all but one game this year, including two straight contests.
