Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields was the 11th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Fields had an excellent college career, completing 68.4% of his pass attempts for 5,373 yards and 63 touchdowns in two years at Ohio State. He also had 218 rushing attempts for 867 yards and 15 touchdowns during his time with the Buckeyes.
The former Ohio State star had a rocky rookie season. He started only 10 games, completing 58.9% of his pass attempts for 1,870 yards and seven touchdowns, compared to 10 interceptions. While many called the rookie a bust after one year, the former Buckeye had a bounce-back season in 2022.
Fields completed 60.4% of his pass attempts for 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns, compared to 11 interceptions in 15 games last season. Furthermore, the second-year quarterback led the team in rushing yards (1,143) and touchdowns (eight) last year.

Justin Fields Injury Update For Fantasy Football
Unfortunately, the former Ohio State star has struggled with injuries in his career. He has missed multiple games every year because of injuries.
Fields has missed the past three games with a thumb injury. Reportedly, the third-year quarterback almost played Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Therefore, fantasy players should feel optimistic that the former Ohio State star can play Thursday night. The Bears listed Fields as a limited participant in today’s practice report.
Justin Fields Fantasy Football Outlook
The former Buckeyes star is the QB21 for the year, averaging 17.6 fantasy points per game. He started the season playing poorly, averaging 13.3 fantasy points per game over the first three weeks. However, Fields was playing better before getting hurt.
In the two games before suffering the thumb injury, the former Ohio State star had 617 passing yards, eight touchdowns, 82 rushing yards, and 30.4 fantasy points. He had at least four passing touchdowns and 27.9 fantasy points in both contests.
However, which version of the quarterback will fantasy players see on the field when he's back from the injury?
If Fields plays like he did in Week 4 and Week 5, fantasy players have a league winner on their hands. However, fantasy players will want to drop the third-year quarterback if Fields plays like he did over the first three weeks this season.
Hopefully, he plays like a superstar and not a bust. Yet, fantasy players should prepare themselves for the worst possible outcome.
