Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster wasn’t on fantasy football radars heading into training camp. The veteran wide receiver was buried on the New England Patriots depth chart.
Therefore, it wasn’t surprising when the Patriots released the former USC star before Week 1. Smith-Schuster signed with the Chiefs a few days later. Yet, fantasy players had no interest in the veteran wide receiver.
However, should fantasy players add Smith-Schuster off the waiver this week? Does the veteran wide receiver have significant fantasy value for the rest of the season?

Is JuJu Smith-Schuster A Good Fantasy Football Pickup For Week 7?
Unfortunately, Rashee Rice suffered a season-ending injury in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. Smith-Schuster has taken over Rice’s role in the slot, the same role he had with Kansas City in 2022. That year, the veteran ended the season as the WR29, averaging 9.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.

Smith-Schuster was outstanding in the team’s last game before the Week 6 bye. He had seven receptions on eight targets for 130 receiving yards and 16.5 fantasy points. The veteran finished second on the team in targets, only behind Travis Kelce (10).
Fantasy players should make Smith-Schuster their top waiver wire target this week. Furthermore, he is a solid WR3 option for fantasy players in Week 7.
JuJu Smith-Schuster Week 7 Fantasy Football Outlook
The veteran is Patrick Mahomes’ new No. 1 wide receiver. While Xavier Worthy will be a superstar one day, the rookie is still learning the offense. Fantasy players should consider Smith-Schuster the Chiefs’ top wide receiver, especially this week against the San Francisco 49ers.
