Is Joshua Palmer Injured or Playing in Week 9?
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Joshua Palmer left the team's Week 8 contest with a knee injury, the second in a row that he seemed to hurt the same knee. However, Palmer returned to the game after the injury.
Palmer finished the team's Week 8 win over the Chicago Bears with three catches for 24 yards. He was targeted four times.
The third-year wideout popped up on the injury report during the week and was not at practice on Thursday. The Chargers don't play until Monday, so it's possible that the Chargers were taking it easy with Palmer. This is something worth monitoring over the weekend.
Joshua Palmer Fantasy Football Injury Outlook
Considering Palmer finished last week's game after the injury, I'd lean toward him playing on Monday night. Still, it's important to wait for some clarity.
As far as fantasy goes, Palmer struggled last week, but before that, he had four games in a row with at least 60 receiving yards. If he's healthy enough to play this week, he should be in line for a better showing than he had in Week 8. He's a WR3/4 play if healthy.
If Palmer ends up ruled out, we could see a big game from Quentin Johnston, who had a career-high five catches for 50 yards against the Bears last week. He would rate around where a healthy Palmer does as a WR3/4 play against the Jets on Monday night.
