Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs has been arguably the best running back in the NFL this season. The former Alabama star is the RB1 for the year, averaging 20.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
The star running back leads the league with 1,402 rushing yards. Jacobs has rushed for 99 or more yards in over half of the games this season, including four straight.
While he has played well this year, Jacobs has dealt with injuries. Unfortunately, the veteran suffered another injury Thursday night against the Los Angeles Rams.

Is Josh Jacobs Healthy Or Injured?
Jacobs entered the game dealing with quad and calf injuries. He then suffered a pinkie injury against the Rams. The veteran running back had his finger bend awkwardly at the end of a big run. Shortly after leaving the game and getting x-rays, Jacobs returned and finished the contest.
After playing Thursday night, the Raiders have a mini-bye (10 days off) until their next game against the New England Patriots.
Since Jacobs returned to the game after getting x-rays, fantasy players shouldn’t worry too much about the star running back’s availability for next week.
The fact that Jacobs returned to the game is excellent news for fantasy players. The veteran running back has been a fantasy cheat code this season. He has scored 17.5 or more half-point PPR fantasy points in 61.5% of the games this year, including five straight. Furthermore, the former Alabama star has scored 11 rushing touchdowns this season, the third-most in the NFL.
However, should fantasy players add Zamir White off the waiver wire in case Jacobs misses time with the finger injury?
Should I Add Zamir White As A Handcuff?
The fourth-round pick has barely played this season. White has only 15 rushing attempts for 62 yards in 12 games. However, the rookie has the skill set needed to replace Jacobs if the veteran misses time.
Unlike Ameer Abdullah and Brandon Bolden, White is a physical North-South style runner. He has the strength to run between the tackles and punish defenders.
If Jacobs misses time, fantasy players should expect Abdullah to have an expanded role in the passing game. However, White will have the early downs and goal-line roles for the Raiders.
