Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen suffered an elbow injury early in the 2022 season, but played through it and was effective for most of the year. However, players and teams can opt for surgery when the season ends, putting their availability for the next season's offseason activities in doubt.
Allen is a superstar signal-caller in real life and fantasy football, so following his injury updates will be a key development this offseason heading into the 2023 season.
Will Allen be ready for training camp? Let's discuss.

Josh Allen Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Allen (elbow) is on track to be fully healthy for the 2023 season and won't need surgery after fighting through a pretty serious right elbow injury in the second half of 2022. He's progressing well from a partially torn UCL, which forced him to wear a brace for a few games after initially injuring his arm on Nov. 6.
The injury isn't as significant as the UCL sprain that kept him out for four games during his rookie campaign, but the soreness and the brace impacted his mechanics this past season. Allen had a platelet-rich plasma injection at one point and eventually ditched his brace late in the year.
All that said, there should be little to no concerns about his health and availability moving forward.
Josh Allen 2023 Fantasy Outlook
In 2023, Allen is fully expected to be an elite fantasy quarterback for the fourth season in a row. Buffalo will bring back Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis, but there's a good chance they bring more firepower into the offense after suffering a tough loss at the hands of the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Divisional Round.
While Diggs has been one of the best wideouts in the NFL since arriving in Buffalo, Davis has failed to be a high-volume receiver who can be counted on weekly. Whether Buffalo beefs up their pass-catching situation in free agency or early in the draft, the Bills' offense could look different next season.
Either way, Allen's rushing upside and elite arm talent will keep him firmly in the QB1 discussion in fantasy for years to come.
