Is Josh Allen Hurt Or Healthy?
To no one's surprise, Josh Allen has put together an MVP-caliber campaign in 2022. Allen has tossed for 3,857 yards and 30 TDs through the air, while also totaling an impressive 705 rushing yards and six scores on the ground. He is currently the overall QB3 in fantasy scoring.
While his production has remained elite, Allen has battled through a lingering elbow injury that he suffered in a Week 9 loss to the New York Jets. There were serious concerns about the injury when it initially happened, but Buffalo's medical staff has assured the organization that Allen can't injure it further by playing.
As a result, the Bills' signal-caller has played through the issue. However, Allen was listed as a limited participant in Buffalo's Wednesday practice session. It marked his first practice limitation since November 23rd. While fantasy managers should continue to monitor Allen's progress throughout the week, this appears to be simple maintenance of his existing elbow issue.
Josh Allen Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 16
Allen put forth his best numbers in quite some time in Buffalo's Week 15 victory over the Miami Dolphins. He accrued 304 passing yards and four TDs, while also picking up 77 rushing yards against the division foe.
There's a terrific chance that Allen stays hot in Week 16, as he draws a juicy matchup against a slumping Chicago Bears defense. Chicago is fresh off a Week 15 thrashing at the hands of Jalen Hurts and they have regularly struggled to contain opposing QBs. The Bears grade out 31st in the NFL in Total Defense DVOA. Assuming Allen is healthy, he should smash in this matchup and remains an elite fantasy option.
