The Minnesota Vikings drafted wide receiver Jordan Addison from USC with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was brought in to replace Adam Thielen and, so far, has impressed everyone in his first preseason game as well as in training camp.
However, he missed the Vikings' second preseason game on Saturday due to an injury. According to head coach Kevin O'Connell, Addison was placed in concussion protocol after hitting the ground in training camp.
This news concerned many fantasy managers as they are projecting Addison to have a big rookie season. In this piece, we will discuss how serious his injury is and the potential timeline of his return.

When Will Jordan Addison Return?
After Jordan Addison was placed in the concussion protocol, Kevin O'Connell stated that the receiver could be back as early as Monday, August 21. As per recent reports, Addison returned to play on Tuesday, August 22, and was seen practicing with the team.
He might not play in the Vikings' last preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, but he is highly likely to play in the season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In the lone preseason game that he played, the USC product was targeted three times, and he finished with one reception for 22 yards. The Vikings want to keep him safe for the season and see him as an important part of their offense alongside Justin Jefferson and K.J. Osborn.
Jordan Addison Will Enjoy Playing With Justin Jefferson
With Dalvin Cook and Adam Thielen no longer on the team, the stage is set for Jordan Addison to thrive alongside Justin Jefferson in the Vikings offense. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is coming off arguably the best season of his career, and the 21-year-old wide receiver will be important to their success.
In his last year at USC, Addison played 11 games and recorded 59 receptions for 874 yards and eight touchdowns. He is expected to reach the next level in the NFL and is projected to have a big rookie season. This will be beneficial for all the fantasy managers who have already drafted him or plan to select him in their upcoming drafts.
