What Did Joe Mixon Accomplish In 2022?
Last year the veteran running back had 210 rushing attempts for 814 yards and seven touchdowns. He also had 60 receptions on 75 targets for 441 receiving yards and two touchdowns last season. More importantly, Mixon was the RB12, averaging 15 half-point PPR fantasy points per game despite playing only 14 games.
However, the former Oklahoma star had a historic performance in Week 9 against the Carolina Panthers. The veteran had 22 rushing attempts for 153 yards and four touchdowns in that game. Furthermore, Mixon added four receptions on five targets for 58 receiving yards and a touchdown.
That game accounted for 25.4% of Mixon’s fantasy points and 55.6% of his touchdowns for the season.
Is Joe Mixon Injured Or Healthy?
The Bengals will lean on the veteran running back again this year after losing Samaje Perine in free agency. Unfortunately, Mixon tweaked something running a route during Sunday’s practice and walked off the field gingerly. Thankfully, the former Oklahoma star quickly returned and scored a touchdown.
Mixon avoided a significant injury. However, should fantasy players target the former Oklahoma star early in their fantasy draft? The veteran running back isn’t an elite player anymore. Yet, his featured role makes him worthy of his fourth-round ADP.
Last year Mixon had a career year in the passing game. However, he should be even more involved in the passing game this season with Perine in Denver.
