Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow was a standout player and fantasy football weapon in 2021, leading his team to the Super Bowl finishing as the QB7 in fantasy. The No. 1 pick in 2020, Burrow's rookie season was cut short due to an ACL tear, but he bounced back for 4,611 yards and 34 touchdowns last year.
Heading into training camp, hype continued to build around Burrow. Not only has he proven himself in fantasy football and the actual NFL, but he gets to play alongside a lethal core of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Joe Mixon, and more. A replenished offensive line could take his game to yet another level.
However, not everything has been smooth sailing for Burrow. The signal-caller suffered a ruptured appendix in August, limiting his presence in training camp and casting some doubt on his availability for Week 1 of the regular season. Let's dive into what we can expect from Burrow in 2022.

Is Joe Burrow Healthy?
When Burrow was initially sidelined with an appendix issue, it became clear that he would need surgery. Fans and fantasy managers alike were advised not to panic since doctors caught the issue early and the operation was successful. However, when news broke that his appendix had completely ruptured and Burrow lost significant core strength, concern grew about both his availability, talent, and outlook.
Burrow didn't play in the preseason, but he did return to training camp drills a couple of weeks ago. Since then, he has steadily ramped up his workload, setting his sights on a potential Week 1 appearance.
Will Joe Burrow Be Ready For Fantasy Football Week 1?
It has been a few days since a credible report has surfaced on Burrow's status, but for the time being, the belief is that he's on track to play Week 1 barring a setback. Not only is he feeling better and progressing in camp, but he's closer to where he'd normally be practice-wise with roughly two weeks until the season opener. As Ian Rapoport of NFL Network noted, Burrow has been practicing in 11-on-11 drills "with no limitations" and finds himself "on the right track."
