When Superstar Tight End Jimmy Graham was traded this off-season from the New Orleans Saints to the Seattle Seahawks, expectations were through the roof. Quarterback Russell Wilson was finally going to have that number one target, added to an offense lacking a huge play-making ball catcher. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, that glorious image has turned into an "anything but" scenario so far.
Over the past four years playing for the Saints, Graham averaged 88.75 catches for 1,099 yards and 11.5 touchdowns making him a top tight end in the league. Since coming over to Seattle, the numbers have been sub-par to say the least. Graham has only seen 26 targets (averaging just over five targets per game) from quarterback Russell Wilson over the first five games of the 2015 season. As of now, Jimmy "not so golden" Graham has only 21 receptions for 204 yards, and two touchdowns in the first five games. He's on track for his worst season as a pro since his rookie campaign in 2010.
Fantasy football owners should be concerned, but remain hopeful that this is rock-bottom. Keep plugging away with Graham in your TE slot in hopes for a break out in Week 6 against the Carolina Panthers. However, a solid back-up plan may be in order if he doesn't start to contribute soon.
