Is Jerome Ford Playing In Week 8?
Jerome Ford was diagnosed with a high ankle sprain after the team's Week 7 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Ford, who had a 69-yard run early in the game, exited in the fourth quarter and did not return. He finished the game with 11 carries for 74 yards and caught two passes for 20 yards.
Despite the initial prognosis for Ford which indicated the injury would keep him out for a game or two, Ford was back at practice on Friday. He reportedly looked good during practice and the team is listing him as questionable for Sunday's game.
That doesn't mean fantasy managers should bank on having Ford, because ankle sprains can be tough to return from in such a short time frame. It's likely that the final decision on Ford's availability won't come until Sunday morning.
Should I Start Kareem Hunt
Kareem Hunt finished Sunday's game against the Colts with 10 carries for 31 yards and two touchdowns. While he didn't have an explosive carry like Ford's 69-yard touchdown, he produced more on his 10 carries than Ford did on his other 10 carries, subtracting the early touchdown.
Even if Ford plays this week, the Browns will likely not want to put too much stress on his ankle injury. Expect Hunt to lead this backfield against the Seahawks.
Seattle allows the 13th-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, so temper expectations when it comes to Kareem Hunt. He should be viewed as a low-end RB2 play if Ford is out and as a low-end RB3 if Ford plays.
