Former Michigan State wide receiver Jayden Reed had a productive career with the Spartans after transferring from Western Michigan University and was selected with the 50th overall pick (second round) of the 2023 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers.
Reed was the sixth wide receiver off the board and one of just eight wideouts taken in the first two rounds. That said, he'll carry plenty of fantasy football intrigue into dynasty rookie drafts.
Is Reed a good fit for the Packers and what can we expect from him as a rookie in fantasy football? Let's dive in.

What Did Jayden Reed Accomplish At Michigan State?
In three seasons at Michigan State, Reed caught 147 passes for 2,069 yards and 18 touchdowns in 31 games. He posted nearly 800 yards and eight touchdowns as a true freshman at Western Michigan in 2018 and sat out the entire 2019 season.
While his production wasn't earth-shattering and his measurables nor athletic testing were impressive, he impressed scouts mightily at the 2023 Senior Bowl, catapulting him up draft boards in a weak wide receiver class. He possesses solid speed (4.45 forty-yard dash) and is dangerous with the ball in his hands, which was enough to propel him to his draft spot.
Is Jayden Reed A Good Fit For The Packers?
The Packers' wide receiver room consists of Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Samori Toure, and 2023 fifth-round pick Dontayvion Wicks. Watson flashed as a rookie, but the competition for targets is wide open, and Reed has a chance to be the No. 1 or No. 2 receiver for Jordan Love in the new-look Packers' offense.
Watson will remain the splash-play big-bodied wideouts, but Reed could develop into Love's underneath target -- which could be perfect for PPR fantasy leagues.
Whether you liked Reed before the draft or not, his second-round draft capital suggests he'll get a chance to produce early. He has a ton of experience under his belt, so he should be able to hit the ground running. He is at very least an intriguing late-round dart throw in 2023 fantasy drafts.
