Lions fans eagerly await the return of Williams to the football field to see if he can add another element to the Detroit offense. The big question is when that return will happen.
What Has Jameson Williams Accomplished?
Williams started his college football career at Ohio State but did not see the ball often due to his spot on the depth chart below Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave. He played a key role in the 2020 playoff win over Clemson, grabbing three receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown.
He transferred to Alabama following the 2020 season and immediately became their top option in the receiving game, grabbing 79 catches for 1,572 yards and 15 touchdowns from Heisman winner Bryce Young. Williams tore his ACL in the National Championship and has not seen the football field since.
When Will Jameson Williams Return?
Williams was designated to return from the IR prior to Week 12 but did not return to game action. While he has started to practice, it looks like a Week 13 return is unlikely as well.
Fantasy managers should eye Week 14 as his potential debut, although Williams has yet to log a full practice.
Is Jameson Williams Healthy or Injured?
Jameson Williams fantasy owners hope that he makes his NFL debut over the final weeks of the season.
While he is a talented wide receiver and plays some soft matchups over the fantasy playoffs (NYJ, CAR, CHI), Williams has to fully return from his ACL injury in order to make the impact that many hope he can make.
With Williams being activated from the IR, his NFL debut should be coming soon.
