The Detroit Lions are off to a great start in 2023, with a 5-1 overall record and sole possession of the NFC North. With an electric offense and much-improved defense, Detroit looks to be a real threat coming out of the NFC.
Along with this, the team looks primed to get even better offensively as second-year receiver Jameson Williams continues to get acclimated in the offense.
After missing the first four games due to suspension, Williams is now back and is already beginning to produce.

What Did Jameson Williams Do In Week 6?

He showcased the speed and route running that made him such a highly touted prospect out of Alabama and looks primed to help this offense take an even bigger leap. As he continues to find his role in this offense, he will see more opportunities to become a reliable fantasy contributor.
Were There Any Worrying Signs With Jameson Williams In Week 7?
Jameson Williams did some great things in week 7. However, he only was on the field for 23% of the total offensive snaps. This was a 24% decrease from week 6 against the Carolina Panthers.
As of right now, Williams has seen only a 9% target share in his two games back. At this level, Williams can not be counted on as a consistent fantasy roster spot.
The hope is that Williams' usage will continue to increase each week, however through two games that has not been the case. As of right now, Williams is more likely to be a contributor if the Lions are blowing teams out.
Should I Pickup Jameson Williams Off the Waiver Wire in Fantasy Football?
There is no doubt that Jameson Williams has the talent to become a lethal weapon in this Detroit offense.
.@Lions @bigsgjamo is a COMET; going to streak by a whole bunch of defenses in the coming months. Lions just got ….a whole bunch better #onepride #BaldysBreakdowns pic.twitter.com/pvgIcFt6vu

As of right now, Williams is not a player that can be confidently started on most fantasy football rosters. However, the Lions have invested a lot into him and will give him chances to prove his value.
It seems evident that Williams will have a prominent role for the Lions at some point this season. With how great their offense has looked so far, it seems evident that Williams is a great option to pick up off of the waiver wire this week. For teams that have the space to stash him, he has the potential to pay dividends as the season progresses.
